My first blog!

I guess we start at the beginning!

After taking a career break from the corporate world to raise my son, at the start of 2020 it was time to decide what I was going to do with all that spare time when he started school in September.

Friends, family and former colleagues had been saying to me “you should setup your own business”, me, really, well if you don’t try, you’ll never know.

So, I started doing some research about the things I love doing and could possibly offer to the big wide world and before too long I had a long list. When grouped together it seemed like a Virtual Assistant and Business Support based role would be a good fit.

More research into the life of a Virtual Assistant and a trip to the Business Centre in my local library and before long I was busier than I had ever been before getting everything setup ready to launch my own business.

It’s been a steep learning curve, with one of the most difficult things being making decisions about what tools I was going to use. The internet is part of everyday life and finding answers takes seconds but it’s also a minefield of opinions, reviews and various options. It’s very easy to keep on researching but never actually making a decision so early on I set myself time limits and criteria for what I wanted to achieve and stuck to them before I disappeared down a black hole.

It’s been an exhausting but enjoyable journey and in 2020 despite everything that happened in the world with the Covid-19 pandemic I feel proud that I launched my business and have already worked with some amazing clients and am looking forward to helping more business owners achieve their goals in 2021.

So, if you have a To Do list that isn’t getting shorter and you could use an extra pair of hands to get on with things while you focus on your core business let’s have a chat and see how I can help you. Email: rachel@donevirtually.co.uk, phone: 07752060201
